  • When does the USDA report on grains & oilseeds come out?
  • The schedule of key USDA reports on grains and oilseeds reflects the seasonality of the markets, with the annual Winter Wheat and Canola Seedings report kicking off the calendar year with a January release. Grain Stocks is then first released in January, and quarterly thereafter.
  • Will soybean oil be price competitive in 2025?
  • USDA assumes policy in place, meaning that the EPA renewable volume obligation for 2025 will continue at the same level for 2026. Along with initial guidance under the Clean Fuels Production Credit (45z), soybean oil is expected to remain price competitive compared to imported canola oil from Canada.

  • Production for the current-year crop of soybeans is initially forecast in August and finalized in November. Alternatively referred to as Planting Intentions, Prospective Plantings is an annual report released at 11:00 a.m. CT (12:00 p.m. ET) on the last business day in March.
  • How much wheat will be produced in 2024?
  • U.S. wheat production is projected 2 percent below 2024/25 at 1,926 million bushels on a slight reduction in harvested area and a lower yield. The NASS Winter Wheat and Canola Seedings report estimated winter wheat seeded area at 34.1 million acres, up 2 percent from 2024.
